Ny-Ålesund is one of the world’s nothernmost settlements, and is one of the three other permanent settlements on Spitsbergen, Svalbard. The population during the winter season is around 30 persons, which all work with things related to research. In the summer the population grows to around 130 persons. The photos below are from areas around the settlement, and was captured on a trip in 2009.
